Privacy notice
Your information.
Here’s how VetLawn handles the information you send through this website.
Who we are
This website is run by VetLawn, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
What we collect
- Request help: your name, ZIP code, an email address or a phone number (or both), who the help is for, the kinds of help you need, and any notes you add.
- Volunteer: your name, ZIP code, email address, the kinds of help you’d like to give, and optional notes.
- Contact: your name, an email address or a phone number (or both), and your message.
- Pledge: the amount and frequency you choose, your name, and your email address.
Each form also records that you agreed to be contacted. If you arrived from a campaign link or another website, we store the link’s campaign tags (such as utm_source) and that website’s address (its domain only, not the full page) with your submission, so we know how people find us.
How we use it
We save what you send in VetLawn’s management inbox so our team can review requests, coordinate help, organize volunteers, and reply to messages and pledges. Only people with the management password can sign in to see it. We don’t publish your submission, sell it, or add you to a mailing list.
When you send a form, we also email a copy of it to the VetLawn team’s inbox so someone can reply. If you gave an email address, we send you an automatic confirmation with your reference number. These emails go out through a mail server run for this website; the team’s copy is then kept by the team’s email provider.
Keep sensitive details private
Please don’t include Social Security numbers, military records, bank details, or medical documents in these forms. A short description of the help you need is enough to get started.
Payment information
Online giving isn’t available yet, so this website doesn’t take payments today. A pledge never charges money. When online giving opens, you’ll enter your payment details directly with the payment provider. VetLawn’s website never sees or stores card numbers. Records of online gifts can include the amount, your contact details, the payment status, and a receipt link.
Cookies, analytics, and technical data
We don’t set cookies for visitors. The management sign-in uses one essential cookie for our team. While you fill in a form, your browser keeps a draft in this tab so you don’t lose what you typed if the form closes. The draft stays on your device and is removed when you send the form or close the tab. If you arrive from a campaign link or another website, this tab also remembers those campaign tags and that website’s address (under the name “vetlawn:source”) until you close it, so they can be sent with a form; nothing is kept when there is nothing to remember.
This website loads its fonts and photographs from our own server and includes no advertising trackers. Our hosting network, Cloudflare, can add its Web Analytics script to the pages it delivers. Our pages block that script, so it doesn’t run on them. Before our October 2026 update, our “page not found” page did not block it, so visiting a missing page may have sent Cloudflare a page-load measurement (the page address, browser type, and timing). Cloudflare Web Analytics doesn’t use cookies.
As with any website, our hosting providers process technical information, such as your IP address, to deliver and protect the site. To limit abuse of the forms, we keep short-lived, one-way coded counters derived from the sender’s IP address and from the email address a confirmation goes to. They expire within a day and are then deleted.
How long we keep it
Open submissions stay in our management inbox while we work on them. Closed submissions are deleted automatically 365 days after their last update, and the team’s email copies stay in its inbox until they are deleted there. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
